The second house governs self-earned wealth, income, communications with family, speech, expenses on good accounts, eating and drinking habits, and other domestic comforts in general (not domestic happiness, as that is controlled by the fourth house).
Venus in the 2nd house of the ascendant (Lagna) chart is considered quite beneficial as it bestows the native with excellent growth prospects financially while they will also enjoy a luxurious standard of living.
The person will have excellent speech and possibly a sweet or melodious voice as well which will attract members of the opposite gender. They are likely to become good singers if they try, and they will also be social (this also depends on the placement of Saturn since Saturn can cause a person to become introverted). Venus in the 2nd house allows the person to manage their finances well and also benefit from them; however, this does not alone guarantee that they will be a good manager of their wealth as Mercury’s position is crucial for that, too.
Some conjunctions worth noting here are:
- Sun conjunct Venus – this will cause the person to be very famous or popular among the members of the opposite gender and they will likely enjoy romantic relationships while also being interested in such adventures more. They will enjoy connecting with the opposite gender irrespective of whether it may be for sexual or romantic or platonic reasons. Note that if Venus gets combusted by the Sun, the native will end up chasing the opposite gender and not getting anything or much reciprocation in return from them.
- Venus conjunct Mars – Mars’ fiery energy will cause Venusian passions to supercharge and this conjunction will more often than not drive the person to actively seeking sexual pursuits. They will be hot-headed and impulsive in general and may often rush into sexual encounters. Mars and Venus when in conjunction with each other will create a personality of a person that will almost always crave sex and be very likely to be interested in even perhaps immoral sexual relationships unless Saturn or Jupiter controls their cravings or desires.
- Venus in its own sign (Libra or Taurus) – in both cases, Venus will bless the native with considerable wealth, comforts, and luxuries, but in different ways. Venus in Taurus will bless the person with family-oriented comforts, such as a loving family that may also be rich, replete with all the benefits and luxuries provided to them by their parents (for example) or someone in their family; they will also enjoy excellent relationships with their spouse and very healthy level of sexual pleasures, too. However, Venus in Libra will give the person more self-earned wealth and primarily enrich the professional life of the native. They will gain respect in their workplace as well as their family and live a royal life. However, Venus in Libra may cause the person’s sexual pleasures and relations with wife to be slightly less passionate than if it were in Taurus.
- Venus in its exaltation sign (Pisces) – Venus provides all the benefits here as well, but Pisces is surprisingly a weaker placement for Venus because it may make the person more emotional and they will likely experience some issues with their age related to their health. Also, this placement gives the native more emotional comforts than sexual connections with their spouses.
- Venus aspect or conjunct Rahu – this will create impacts similar to that of Mars conjunct Rahu, but the difference here is that in this case, the person will earn money through immoral means if Venus has an aspect of Rahu while being in the 2nd house. They will also develop an obsession with wealth, luxuries, comforts, food, and they will also have an interesting voice but may be possibly manipulative in speech.
- Venus conjunct Ketu – in the 2nd house, Ketu’s placement with Venus is not considered optimal as Ketu’s energies of detachment will make the person care less about their wealth, relationships, spouses, etc. The person will, however, crave spiritual connections and they have a good chance of bonding with someone who can introduce them to mysticism. However, otherwise, this is not considered a materialistically good placement in the 2nd house as Ketu will pretty much make the native uninterested in anything Venus has to offer.
