Sun in the 10^th house is arguably one of the best placements in the ascendant chart of a native. In the 10^th house, Sun gets directional strength which boosts its powers to do good for the ascendant or native. When the Sun is unafflicted in the 10^th house, it makes the person or native akin to a king in the eyes of the world.

Several successful entrepreneurs, CEOs, politicians, and religious leaders would have their Sun favourably placed in the 10^th house. The biggest benefit of having Sun in the 10^th house is that the person would gain respect quite easily in their workplace or profession and others will be happy to follow their ideals.

This means, when it comes to the job or occupational front, the person can expect to quickly or at least steadily climb the ladder up to the higher level of management, potentially the C-Suite (CEO, CFO, etc.)

The person may also do quite well if they are looking to acquire a governmental role; Sun in this placement enables the person to continually rise up ranks and acquire a powerful position in the government and administration.

Such individuals are extremely goal-oriented or career-oriented to the point that their personal lives and family lives may suffer (note that from the 10^th house, Sun looks at the 4^th house through its 7^th aspect which affects the 4^th house unless the 4^th house is under the influence of some benefic planet of the lord of the 4^th house is strongly placed).

Additionally, such individuals are also excellent at public-facing roles and will have no problem getting the masses to support them and gain reputation in their eyes.

If afflicted, the Sun here will be weakened and the person may face delays or obstacles in rising to top managerial and executive positions. If the native is in business, then an afflicted Sun could affect their reputation to clients and customers, all of which could have direct implications on their business and income.

Some drawbacks here would be that the person or native would always be worried about how to be further successful in their career due to which their domestic happiness would get affected as well as their relations with their mother would be afflicted. In later part of the life, the native’s mother may suffer from some serious diseases.

Some points to consider here are:

1. Sun in own sign (Leo) or exaltation (Aries) – the person’s career in this case will bring him pretty much everything – money, power, fame, reputation, status, etc. Whether in government or private jobs, he/she will be well-known as a natural leader in their field and others would look up to him/her.
2. Sun afflicted by malefic influences – the magnitude of growth and rate of growth of the person would be reduced or somewhat less due to delays. The person may also commit sinful deeds to rise up the ranks.
