The 5^th house represents children (or progeny), gains from speculative investments (derivatives trading including futures and options), gambling and fantasy sports, love and non-marital relationships with the opposite gender, physical pleasures (sex) too are considered from this house. The fifth house also represents one’s devotion and similar qualities.

So, if the Moon is in the 5^th house of the Lagna chart, the person is likely to be quite emotional in his/her relationships. However, they will have good relations with the people of the opposite gender, although whether they will be lucky in love or not depends on the position and placement of the lord of the 5^th house of the ascendant chart of the person.

If Moon occupies the 5^th house in its own sign (Cancer) or in exaltation (Taurus), the person will be quite successful in finding a beautiful partner or spouse via love marriage. However, they may not find their partner in their first attempt or relationship as Moon will nevertheless have its ups and downs which they will experience in their relationships.

The native is also likely to be religious if their Moon is in the 5^th house, more so if Moon is also the lord of the 5^th house. As per the Bhrigu Sutras, the person with a beneficial Moon in their 5^th house will be skilled at obtaining blessings of female deities and may also perform religious activities to obtain spiritual power.

If unafflicted, the Moon in this house will also give good children who will be intelligent and also, in a way, lucky for the native.

Some considerations to note here are:

1. If the Moon is placed in a male sign here (odd signs) – the person may obtain more sons than daughters
2. If the Moon is placed in a female sign here (even signs) – the person may obtain more daughters than sons

Also, the 5^th house can also support luck in a way, so having the Moon placed there will help the native to secure money and be financially well-off.

The main issue with Moon being afflicted here is that the person’s love marriages will likely not happen. An afflicted Moon in the 5^th house will cause the person to suffer failures in love and mostly end up with an arranged marriage; additionally, their spouse may not be as helpful to them and their nature and behavior as well as looks may be… subpar.

However, benefic influences or aspects on an afflicted Moon may help reduce the damage done to it.
